CCC can help us communicate with other people who hold different opinions without blaming, shaming, guilting, or criticizing them. Blame is an energy drain that limits our thinking. It keeps us from being open to learning anything new about the situation, about ourselves or others. And it just serves to alienate the other person.
What we can do instead is to listen deeply to the underlying and precious Universal Human Needs that are not being met for ourselves and the other person. From this perspective, we can begin a mutually respectful dialogue that supports understanding and empathy. Then, we can collaborate to explore strategies that hold care for both parties’ needs. Strategies will emerge when there is a conscious, compassionate connection.
This course is for anyone who wants to communicate better with themselves, their friends, their neighbours, their family, their co-workers, and maybe even their dog!
